Integrated Community Services for Tuberculosis Patients and Their Families – SCI-TB

Summary

The project aims to enhance the capacity of health and social service organizations, particularly in the field of tuberculosis (TB), to develop integrated methodologies for delivering specialized services that better meet patient needs. This involves engaging all relevant stakeholders (local and central public institutions, NGOs, former patients) and conducting advocacy campaigns to contribute to better social and professional inclusion of patients.

The organizational development objective of the project is to enhance the skills of 6 ASPTMR employees so that they can provide (online, face-to-face, and phone) psycho-social counseling and legal assistance services for at least 100 TB patients or their families.

The main results are: a working methodology developed through a multi-stakeholder approach for providing integrated community services to meet the needs of TB patients and their families; increased capacity of former patients to engage in advocacy processes; enhanced capability of authorities to deliver integrated services to TB patients; and an advocacy campaign for the adoption and implementation of the methodology.
