Welcome to Romania! An Introductory Guide for Romanian Language Teachers Working with Students from Refugee Families, VOL. 1, REVISED 2nd EDITION
This manual has been carefully revised and, most importantly, significantly enriched to better meet the needs of foreign students and teachers of Romanian as a second language (RSL). We have incorporated, sometimes implicitly and other times explicitly, contemporary teaching and pedagogical methods, ensuring that each lesson, beyond its informational content, is interactive and accessible.
Our approach is based on the belief that learning Romanian as a foreign language should be a comprehensive and enjoyable experience. Therefore, we have proposed a wide range of exercises and activities (individual, in pairs, in smaller or larger groups), dialogues from everyday life, as well as aspects related to the culture and civilization of the Romanian space.
This edition significantly improves grammatical explanations, vocabulary sections, and teaching activities. These enhancements aim to facilitate a deeper understanding of Romanian morphosyntax and semantics while also providing varied contexts for use.
Additionally, we have included modern digital and technological resources, allowing students to study and practice outside the classroom.
