Re-writing the Refugees Life – Youth Exchange

Re-writing the refugees life: A week full of emotion and learning with 35 young people from 7 different countries.

On a morning filled with enthusiasm and the desire to make a difference, Bucharest hosted a special project: the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange titled “Re-Writing the Refugees Life.”

In this project, young people from six European countries gathered to discuss and explore how communities can help rewrite the stories of refugees and facilitate their harmonious integration into the host society.

Participants from diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences had the opportunity to learn from one another and contribute to creating an environment of mutual understanding and acceptance.

For a week, they engaged in a series of interactive activities and open discussions, shedding light on topics such as the challenges faced by refugees, their rights, and how society can offer support and solidarity.

In addition to learning activities, the young people had the chance to participate in concrete actions to help refugees, such as volunteering in reception centers and public awareness activities regarding the issues these individuals face.

As the week progressed, the participants became more aware of the power of compassion and empathy in supporting those in need. Through activities like urban treasure hunts and a visit to Peleș Castle, they learned to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the surrounding world.

At the end of the project, participants left with hearts full of inspiration and determination to continue promoting peace and mental well-being in their communities.

The Youth Exchange not only enriched these young people with new knowledge and experiences but also connected them to a network of friendship and solidarity that will last for a long time to come.
